I haven't seen this happen. Yes this is cast and yes aftermarket upgrades will fit.
The OEM front diffs from Polaris are prone to breaking the diff cover, is this also Cast cover? Polaris Sportsman / Scrambler / Ranger front differential 1333053 1333391 1333569
If this is also Cast like OEM, is the plate size the same as OeM that aftermarket upgrades will fit?
